Player Development

Just as in real life when prospects don't always match their scouting reports, not all CSFBL players will reach their full potential in all ratings, while others may exceed them.

How Development Works

There are a few components to development and decline.

  • Each rating has a peak age and a decline age - the age at which a player is usually fully developed, and the age at which a player usually declines.
  • Each player has a "peak" modifier, which influences the peak/decline age for all his ratings equally
  • Each player has a "development" and "decline" modifier which affects how quickly (or slowly) he develops and declines.
  • On top of that are the ‘Gods of Randomization’.

Some players will never reach their potential, will others may peak quickly. Some players may see peaks at different times – for example; a PO/SY pitcher may see his PO peak in his mid-20's, only to see it decline in his 30s when his SY peaks … kind of like learning a new pitch.

Low MinorMinors Development Bonus

Players in Low Minors when the season flips (Nov. 2) get a slight boost to development for that year (average players will receive between 10-15% boost for that years’ development)
