Summary Frequently Asked Questions About CSFBL

When will my team play its next game?

Why did I get fewer than three players in the draft?

  • If you have 10 players in the Low Minors, you simply can't draft another guy because all drafted players go into LOWs.

Why aren't the statistics updated yet for a sim?

  • Depending on the time of day, how many games must be simmed, whether it is a full moon or not, and so on determine how quickly statistics get updated. The results and box scores are available as soon as the game is simmed, but the actual player's statistics will be updated soon afterwards. The best way to tell whether your team's statistics are completely updated? Look on your team's news page and see if there is a Player of the Game award has been awarded yet for the last game simmed or if it is still unknown. If it has been awarded, the statistics should be updated. If not, then be patient

Why during the season rollover was my top prospect called up from low minors?

  • This because you had no reserve players in AAA and you had players on your major league roster either: 1) retire or 2) decide to become free agents due to lack of playing time. As a result, your team was forced to call up a player in low minors to fill the empty roster spot. If you have no players in AAA and Low Minors, then a scrub is signed to fill any empty roster spots. The best way to avoid this from happening? Sign some extra scrubs to put in AAA before the season rollover.

How do I become commissioner of a league?

How do I change a public league into a private league?

There are a number of requirements to turn a public league into a private and/or commissioner-run league.

  • In order to become a private league, 75% of all owners in a public league must vote to change the league to a private league. The forums should be used to solicit votes in an open discussion on your league's forum.
  • In order to be elected commissioner, 75% of all owners in a public league must vote on a commissioner or group of commissioners. The forums should be used to solicit votes in an open discussion on your league's forum.
  • When the voting is complete for both of those items, someone must send a private message to chrisgeleven or realmwalker notifying them of the changes. You must provide the following:
    • Link to the forum posts with league votes
    • Link to league page
    • Exact spelling (caps, punctuation, spaces, etc.) of your league name
    • A list of the elected commissioners

Once that is done, the CSFBL team will take care of getting the appropriate rights assigned. It really takes us about 5 minutes to do it if you provide all of this info the first time around.

We suggest having more than one owner in a league with commissioner powers; this provides checks and balances as well as continuity if someone is unavailable. Somewhere between 1 and 4 owners is good enough. One strategy we have seen is one owner per division in a league be given commissioner rights.
